Weekly Update

Hi Everyone.   Sorry for the delay in getting this out.  Combine being busy and some computer glitches and here we have this late on Wednesday Grab a cup of tea and read on:

We have had a few new people join RTC over the last few weeks so welcome to you all.  If you are unsure where to start just turn up at a session (except Tues am cycle), introduce yourself to the coach and they will help you out.  Alternatively email or phone me and I can discuss with you what you need to know.

s going to be a big / great race.  For RTC this race is where we choose our sprint and short course champions (<40 and >40yrs male and female) and also our handicap winner for the 2013/2014 season (announced at presentation night).  If will sell  out so make sure you jump online and get entered.  Good luck to everyone racing in either the swim / run / juniors or beginners race on the Saturday out or sprint distance Sunday.  Dwayne will be back to make his second appearance of the season with Radish on the tandom bike in the teams event and they throw down a challenge or if you do pass them make sure you say hi at the same time.

We will have our tents, trailer, drinks and everything set up for the morning as a special thank you to everyone who has participated and helped RTC with the pull down of transition at any of the races.  Speaking of that a reminder that we will do that for the last time this season and earn the club some money to go towards the presentation night.  If you can help even for only a short amount of time it would be appreciated.  Looking forward to a busy but very fun weekend at Bribie.

You may have noticed that we have a new website that has been built and is slowly being uploaded to the server.  Thanks to Paul S for all the hard work that has gone into getting that up and running.  Please bear with us as we get all the finer details of this website sorted.  If you are wanting the monthly training outlines please let me know as they are available (just
not on the site yet).  Also if you have emailed any of us at the t got them.  Again due to a unseen glitch these emails have gone to join Peter Pan in Never Never Land, never to be seen again.  So if you emailed any of t replied, please try again (but leave it a day or 2 until it is totally sorted).  If you need us before then contact us via our mobiles or the fb site.  For all coaching matters please contact me at teamjko67@gmail.com until we have it sorted.  Thanks.

Good luck to Kirstin (and anyone else) who is racing in Davenport this Saturday.  It is the last of the qualifiers for the Australian team to go to the world champs in August so we wish her a great race.

The last race of the TQ state series is on Sunday 6th April and entries are now open.  You will have seen an email from James earlier this week regarding the race and terms and conditions surrounding the random prize draw of a car.  Thanks to TQ for allowing that to change a little bit and allowing those who will be down at Port Mac (that are eligible to be in the final 10) to have a proxy for them at the drawing of the car.  Go to our fb page and follow the links to enter, or go directly to the TQ site www.triathlonqld.com.au It would be great to see heaps of RTC members racing as we can.  Home ground advantage for us t race we .

Congratulations to all the juniors who have been swimming in the Met Nth and Sunny Coast Regional swim trials this past week.  There has been quite a s and lots going on to the next level.  Great work juniors.

There were a number of races on over the past weekend and well done to everyone
who participated in some way, shape or form.  Gatorade saw a few RTC podium once again despite the challenging conditions.  Well done everyone who competed there.  Also on were a few trail runs and a charity cycle.  Well done to Emily on making it through her first 100km on the bike.  Great work to everyone who participated.

It was great to see so many RTC out at the pre-Ironman dinner last Saturday night.  We congratulated those who have already raced this season, and wished good luck to the NZ (this weekend) and Melbourne team (4 weeks).   Racing this Saturday in NZ is Knighty, Keith F, Dan M, Rob T and maybe Andrew R??  To follow them online  go to www.ironmanlive.com Anyone else we missed??

Saturday June 14 will be the 2014 Moreton Bay Grand Prix which RTC host. The racing will start at 12md and we encourage all RTC to race and also to get involved.  Great prize money on offer so make sure you keep the date free.  You can now enter online.  Go to the RTC fb page to
enter.  Make sure you let your friends know so they can enter also. We would love to see as many RTC as possible having a race.  A great with your friends.

MBRR are looking for a few more pacers in both the ½ marathon and the 10km.  If you are interested in doing this please let me know asap at coaching@redcliffetriclub.com ll pass on your details.  They are also looking for people who may t do it at the last minute.  The benefit of pacing is the fun it provides, the ability to dress up, free entry, and the ability to help others make their dreams come true.  A very worthwhile and enjoyable morning.  So if interested let me know.  2 of you can even sign up to do it together.

More Endura will be ordered early next week.  If you want to order anything please contact Simon.  He can let you know costs of anything you want to order.

I seem to have accumulated an amount of gear from previous training sessions that I no longer require.  I have water bottles including the good, keep everything cold ones.  A bladder for a backpack.  3 sets of paddles – 1 white and 2 grey.  Blue jumper/cardigan, hat and a Doomben Half Marathon towel.  I will bring it to Bribie on Sunday and after that the clothes and water bottles get donated to Vinnies.  I do appear though to be missing a cheesecake.  If anyone has seen it can they bring it on Sunday with them please.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy what is left of February. Train safe and  stay upright and I look forward to seeing lots of you up at Bribie.  Make  sure you come and say hi to us at the RTC tent.
